Nicki Minaj Breaks Miley Cyrus’ Vevo Record

Nicki Minaj's Anaconda has set a new record on Vevo for the most views in 24 hours.

Minaj's yansh-shaking video, which premiered on Vevo at midnight Thursday, tallied 19.6 million video plays in 24 hours, besting the 19.3 million streams Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball generated on the first day of its release in September 2013.

Vevo announced Minaj's victory at 1 a.m. Friday in a Twitter post:

Mascherano agrees new Barcelona deal

The midfielder has agreed to extend his current deal with the Catalan giants, which will see him stay at the Camp Nou until 2018

Javier Mascherano is set to sign a new contract which will keep him at Barcelona until 2018, the club have confirmed.

Stablizing Ebola Crisis Will Take Six Months' - MSF

The outbreak of Ebola in West Africa will take at least six months to bring under control, medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says.

Speaking in Geneva, MSF President Joanne Liu said the situation was "deteriorating faster, and moving faster, than we can respond to".

Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) said the scale of the outbreak appeared to be "vastly underestimated".

Luis Suárez to be presented on Monday...


The player will be presented on Monday, the day of the Joan Gamper Trophy

Following the announcement of the verdict by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the appeal against the sanction imposed on Luis Suárez by FIFA, FC Barcelona hereby announces that the player will join the first team’s training session scheduled for tomorrow Friday at 9.30 AM CET in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Likewise, the public presentation of Suárez as a new FC Barcelona player will be held on Monday at the Camp Nou, on occasion of the Joan Gamper Trophy match.

Another Nigerian Nurse Dies of Ebola

35year old Justina Obi Ejelonu, (pictured above), the nurse who attended to late Liberian Patrick Sawyer while he was ill at the First Consultant hospital in Lagos, has died.

Sahara reporters reorted that her relatives called to inform them of her demise in the early hours of today. Ms. Ejelonu had been kept in a quarantine facility in Lagos and was very vocal in the campaign for the release of the ZMapp experimental drug to Nigerian Ebola disease patients.

Justina was quarantined at the B Ward, a male ward which is now referred to as the Ebola Ward of the Yaba Mainland General Hospital.

Suarez ban upheld, but allowed to train

Luis Suarez's four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini has been upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but he can train with Barcelona.

Suarez had taken the fight against his suspension, imposed by FIFA during the World Cup finals, to the highest sporting court.
