David Letterman reportedly is planning to retire from The Late Show in 2015.
Letterman, 66, announced his plan during a taping of The Late Show on Thursday afternoon, CNN reports.
CBS is expected to issue a statement sometime before the program airs Thursday night.
The announcement initially leaked out when a performer, Mike Mills of REM, who was at the taping of The Late Show, tweeted out the news. "Dave just announced his retirement," Mills wrote.
