Messi has been named top striker of the year by IFFHS

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has named Leo Messi the top goalscorer of 2012 in the 60 top leagues in the world.


He has scored 50 goals in 37 matches and in turn, he has been awarded with another honour, granted by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics, who consider the Barça player the best striker of 2012 with an average 1.37 goals per game.

These incredible figures mean he tops Cristiano Ronaldo, who got an average of 1.21 goals a game thanks to scoring 46 times in 38 games. Messi and Cristiano are not the only Liga stars in the list. Atlético Madrid’s Radamel Falcão is 3rd and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuaín is 52nd....
