My wife is peddling lies – Beleaguered Ghana defender Mensah

The Black Stars guardsman says he is a responsible father and claims by his better half that he is not taking care of them are untrue

Ghana defender John Mensah has denied reports of alleged infidelity and neglect of parental responsibilities as being claimed by his wife, Henrietta.

The Black Stars general skipper was scheduled to appear before an Accra High Court over a divorce case initiated by Henrietta on Monday.

According to his wife, he decision was informed by alleged infidelity on Mensah’s part. The defender was not present in court, but his wife was in attendance hence the case was adjourned to a later date.

The central defender also stands accused by Henrietta of having neglected his parental responsibilities leaving the upkeep of their four children to her alone at their Trassacco residence.

However, the former Sunderland defender has rubbished the claims by his wife.

“I do what every responsible father has to do for his children and I have no reason not to cater for their needs,” Mensah told Radio XYZ. "I do well to send them money as I know they will need them and I have always been taking responsibility of everything else including their school fees."

He added: “All these accusations by her are false and I know the truth will definitely be told one day.”
