Club Football Resumes
After a week plus of many international matches and little
or no club football, with series of events on and off the pick, focus is being
shifted back to the respective league games also with an eye on the mid-week
champions league quarter finals first leg, I bring to you some of the important
fixtures to watch out for this weekend.
Some might say they had a boring 1 week, but many will not
dispute the fact that we say some intriguing events during the international
week, as spain re-established themselves as a force with a well-earned away win
in paris against a good French side and Germany showed just why they are always
a favorite in any competition they go into, Russia showed what defending looks
like it European soccer, Nigeria realized that winning the AFCON has its own disadvantages
as they were made to work for a point in front of their own fans by Kenya.
Back to club football:
Real Madrid and Barcelona will go into Saturday’s away games
with one eye on the mid-week Champions league against Galatasaray and PSG as
they take on Real Zaragoza and Celta Vigo, all respectively. Barcelona is set to welcome back Tito Vilanova to the dug out after spending 10 weeks on the sideline due to cancer treatment at New York.
