Former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff buys most expensive jet for N11.5b

Former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sherriff has surpassed Bishop David Oyedepo as the owner of the largest fleet of private jets in Nigeria with his new jet (Gulfstream G650 model) worth about $72 million (N11.5 billion).

The model was introduced in 2008 with a capacity for eight passengers and a crew of four on nonstop legs of 7,000 nautical miles (12,964 km) for standard configuration.

Boko Haram bomber jailed for life for bombing Thisday, The Sun

Boko Haram member, Mustapha Umar, was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for his involvement in the April 26, 2012 bombing of SOJ Plaza in Kaduna where Thisday, The Sun and The Moment newspapers have their bureaus.

Umar was convicted on one count of terrorism for the bombing.
