MUST READ!!!!!!! US State Department Ebola Alert

If you want to know more about the Ebola virus, then read this alert from the US Embassy here in Nigeria ... 
In order to help our Embassy Community better understand some of the key points about the Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical specialists at the U S State Department and assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension. Our medical specialists remind everyone that they should be following the guideline from the center for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.
• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.
• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.
• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.
• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids. Continue...
• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.
• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.
• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).
• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.
• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.
• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.
• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.

Update On The Ebola Virus Case in Lagos, Nigeria

Briefing newsmen today, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina said the Liberian man being tested for the Ebola Virus is currently at a private hospital in Obalende, Lagos. She said the man has been isolated and the hospital vicinity cordoned off and that 30 other people are also being tested for possible contact with the deadly virus.

Dr Adeshina warned residents to;
“keep personal and environmental hygiene” and urged those who notice “strange feeling or symptoms similar to those of Ebola virus, which ranges from fever, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sore throat and joint pains, which are all symptoms of other ailments, to visit competent health facilities”.
In the absence of such facilities, she said residents should call the following numbers - 08023169485, 08033086660, 08033065303, 08055281442, 08055329229.

Tips On How To Prevent You & Your Loved Ones From Contracting The Ebola Virus

The Lagos State Government yesterday confirmed a possible case of Ebola Virus, which is been currently investigated while treatment is on for the 40 year old Liberian, who is now a suspect, and a possible 30 others who may have had contact with him.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina, in a briefing noted that the 40 year old Liberian is in a private hospital in the Obalende area of the State. And that the hospital housing the Liberian has been cordoned off and the victim isolated.

The first time I saw a condom would be between early and mid-80’s, I was in primary school but can’t remember exactly which class I was, but definitely not primary 6. I was staying with my Grandma’s brother who was a retired headmaster back then in Ifon-Osun, Osun State, and one day while doing a random cleaning or something of sort, I came across an attractive sachet of something, I picked and tore it open, it contained a different kind of balloon, the type I used to see at weddings and events decorations. So, I hid the balloon in my pocket and went out later to play with friends and boast that I had a balloon which after being blown was bigger that any balloon we had ever seen. We were at it when one kill-joy uncle saw us and collected it from us warning us never to play with such balloon again.

Scientist reveals that too much porn can make men stupid.

A new study by German researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development found that men who overdose on porn have less grey matter, making their brains generally smaller than those of men who rarely watch porn.

And not just that, these men also have a smaller striatum - i.e. the part of the brain which processes 'rewards and motivation' - leading scientists to believe that pornography damages this function.

The female leading author of the study, Simone Kühn, did point out however, that it wasn't clear whether watching porn leads to these brain changes or whether people born with certain brain types watch more porn but one thing was clear - less intelligent men love pornography.

3. Salmon
Salmon is an excellent food to fight stress, anxiety, and depression. Salmon also provides most of your daily vitamin D needs. And as you may already know, Vitamin D is responsible for keeping your heart, bones, colon and brain healthy. It also helps prevent colon cancer, anxiety, depression, heart disease and bone disease.

Salmon is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are excellent for fighting inflammation, wrinkles and acne. Its high omega-3 content also helps hydrate your skin from the inside out. Moreover, eating salmon keeps your scalp hydrated and promotes strong, healthy hair.
